About this role
1X is seeking a Simulation Engineer to develop and validate physics-based models that guide the engineering of NEO, their humanoid home robot. You'll create thermal, structural, and dynamics simulations that accelerate development, reduce risk, and enable faster decision-making across mechanical, controls, and systems teams.
What you'll do
- Build and validate thermal, structural, and multi-body dynamics models that predict real-world performance
- Correlate simulations with experimental test data and refine models for improved accuracy
- Conduct design studies, tradeoff analyses, and sensitivity investigations to inform engineering decisions
- Develop scalable simulation workflows, automation tools, and best practices for cross-team efficiency
- Identify design risks early and provide data-backed recommendations for major product milestones
- Collaborate with mechanical, controls, electrical, and systems engineering teams

- Physics-based modeling (thermal, structural, dynamics)
- Industry simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, MSC Adams)
