Security Operations Engineer

About this role

Accenture Federal Services seeks an experienced DOD Security Operations Engineer to support the Joint Staff in planning and executing full-spectrum cyber operations at Fort Meade, MD. The role involves monitoring security threats, investigating incidents, and managing enterprise-level security policies for government defense and national security missions.

What you'll do

• Monitor and analyze system logs, network traffic, and user behavior to identify security threats
• Investigate security incidents to determine nature, scope, and impact
• Coordinate with incident response teams to contain, mitigate, and remediate confirmed threats
• Utilize SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and security tools to detect incidents
• Document incidents and resolutions to maintain comprehensive security event records
• Develop and refine enterprise-level security policies and best practices

• Security Operations Center (SOC) management (5+ years)
• GovCloud and AWS/Azure/Google Cloud expertise
• SIEM, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring tools
• DOD 8140/8570 IAM Level III certification required
• Cybersecurity protocols and threat landscape knowledge
• NIST compliance and security frameworks
• Incident management and threat intelligence analysis
• Cyber operations infrastructure development (preferred)
