About this role

AEVEX Aerospace seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer 2 to design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for unmanned vehicles (UAVs, UGVs, USVs) and defense applications. The role spans embedded systems, power electronics, RF devices, and battery management across R&D and production environments.

What you'll do

  • Design and test electrical systems for military and commercial unmanned platforms
  • Create and maintain electrical documentation including schematics and wiring diagrams using version control (GIT)
  • Analyze technical specifications and ensure compliance with military standards and regulations
  • Develop automated programming and testing systems for circuit boards and subassemblies
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and support production staff on the floor
  • Transition R&D electrical designs into production-ready systems

  • Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, Eagle, KICAD)
  • Electrical simulation tools (LTspice, ANSYS HFSS, CST Microwave Studio)
  • Embedded processors and firmware development (ARM, C/C++)
  • Test equipment operation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, DMMs)
  • RF design and antenna knowledge
  • Soldering and hands-on circuit assembly
  • Industry communication protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, CAN, USB, SPI)
  • Battery and power management systems
