Acoustics Engineer

About this role

Alarm.com seeks an Acoustics Engineer to develop audio systems for next-generation smart home security products. You'll collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to design and optimize speaker and microphone solutions, working with overseas manufacturers to ensure quality and performance.

What you'll do

• Serve as acoustics expert, translating complex principles into actionable design decisions
• Perform benchmarking and testing of speaker systems and microphones against specifications
• Analyze test data and conduct root cause analysis for acoustic issues with experimental validation
• Coordinate with Asian manufacturers on specifications, testing limits, and quality management
• Work with internal teams to establish product specifications based on demos and testing
• Support R&D efforts in full duplex implementation and advanced audio features
