Software Engineer

About this role

Allara, a fast-growing women's health platform, seeks a Software Engineer to develop features across their event-driven healthcare platform. You'll build patient-facing applications, AI-powered tools, and healthcare system integrations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid NYC environment.

What you'll do

• Build and ship full-stack features that enhance patient experience and personalized care delivery
• Develop event-driven systems including AI/ML-powered health guidance and healthcare integrations
• Write clean, maintainable code following engineering best practices and standards
• Collaborate with product, design, clinical, and data teams to translate requirements into solutions
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Monitor, debug, and improve production system reliability and performance

What they're looking for

• Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar modern languages
• Full-stack development with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks
• RESTful APIs and database design (SQL and NoSQL)
• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Event-driven architectures and message queues
• Healthcare technology and HIPAA compliance
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication
• Self-directed learning and growth mindset
