About this role
Allen Control Systems, a defense robotics startup in Austin, seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee inspection, testing, and quality analysis for precision-manufactured components. This onsite role involves developing quality management systems, operating CMM equipment, performing dimensional inspections, and driving root cause analysis to ensure product integrity and compliance with defense standards.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
- Design and implement custom inspection tooling and fixtures for accurate part measurement
- Program, set up, and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software for dimensional and geometric inspections
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision tools and verify GD&T compliance
- Document defects and non-conformances; collaborate with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records, generate quality reports, and track trends to improve supplier performance
