About this role
Allen Control Systems, a defense startup developing autonomous targeting systems, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee material and component quality from suppliers. You'll manage audits, non-conformance investigations, and supplier performance metrics while collaborating across engineering and procurement in a fast-growing environment.
What you'll do
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify technical and manufacturing capabilities
- Lead root cause and corrective action processes for supplier defects
- Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning and Part Approval processes for new components
- Generate supplier performance scorecards and quality metrics (DPMO, COPQ)
- Review Engineering Change Orders for supplier tooling and process impacts
- Partner with procurement to resolve high-risk supplier issues and production blockers

- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- ERP systems
- Root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
- APQP and PPAP processes
- AS9100/ISO9001 standards
