Raw Materials Developer, Yarn Technologist

About this role

ALO seeks a Raw Materials Yarn Technologist to lead Tier 3 yarn engineering and validation for their athletic apparel lines. This role focuses on developing yarn specifications, managing supplier partnerships, coordinating testing, and ensuring consistent performance across yarn platforms that meet durability and aesthetic standards.

What you'll do

• Lead Tier 3 yarn development and engineering while maintaining detailed specifications for bulk production readiness
• Coordinate yarn testing and validation to confirm alignment with end-use performance requirements
• Partner with fiber producers and yarn suppliers to drive quality standards, reduce variation, and establish repeatable processes
• Troubleshoot fabric and garment issues traced to yarn inputs and implement corrective actions with suppliers
• Support cross-platform yarn expertise for knit and woven fabric developments in collaboration with Tier 2 mills
• Maintain documentation and data integrity for yarn specifications, testing records, and materials readiness tracking
