About this role

Altana seeks a Sales Engineer to drive growth in the federal government sector by translating AI-powered trade intelligence solutions into customer value. You'll bridge technical capabilities with sales strategy, working across defense, customs, and economic security domains while collaborating with product, engineering, and marketing teams.

What you'll do

  • Support sales processes for government and customs/trade customers, identifying emerging use cases and stakeholder needs
  • Master the Altana platform and produce original analytical briefs to advance the sales cycle
  • Present technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences from technical staff to C-suite executives
  • Contribute to product development in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and data scientists
  • Develop expertise in trade, defense, economic security, and government operations
  • Help establish Altana's public sector presence through recruiting and domain expertise building

What they're looking for

  • Public sector/government experience (4+ years)
  • International trade and customs knowledge
  • Python and/or SQL proficiency
  • AI tools and modern software experience
  • Technical and executive presentation skills
  • Data analysis and dataset exploration
  • Government procurement processes
  • Problem-solution correlation and consultative selling
