About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design and Release Engineer to lead glazing system development for automotive applications. This on-site role in Long Beach involves managing glass components from concept through production launch, collaborating across engineering disciplines to deliver optically superior, structurally sound, and compliant glazing solutions.

What you'll do

  • Develop and release glazing components including windshields, sunroofs, and panoramic roof systems across vehicle platforms
  • Translate design intent into manufacturable glazing solutions while managing optical, structural, and weathersealing performance
  • Define glass specifications including thickness, laminate construction, tint, and coating requirements with optimization for mass and cost
  • Manage DFMEA, DVPR, SCCAF documentation and tolerance stack-up analysis for dimensional compliance
  • Collaborate with suppliers, molders, and cross-functional teams on tooling, encapsulation quality, and program delivery
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (FMVSS 205, ECE R43) and support prototype builds and quality issue resolution
