Soft Trim Interior Design Release Engineer
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Soft Trim Interior Design Release Engineer to manage the design, development, and release of automotive interior components. The role requires expertise in CAD/PLM systems, supplier coordination, and manufacturing validation throughout the product lifecycle, with responsibilities spanning from parametric modeling to plant launch support.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and release soft trim interior components using NX parametric modeling
- Coordinate with external suppliers, stamping plants, and body shops to ensure manufacturability and cost targets
- Develop CBOM, quadris, and technical documentation; manage supplier technical reviews
- Define and track engineering validation plans including DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA; coordinate physical testing
- Provide onsite plant launch support to troubleshoot assembly issues, fit, and finish problems
- Ensure designs meet internal standards, performance targets, and regulatory compliance
