Staff Accountant | Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting

About the Opportunity

America At Work is recruiting a Staff Accountant for an established financial services organization in Lancaster, PA.

We're seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with hands-on experience in bookkeeping, account reconciliations, general ledger transactions, and financial reporting.

This opportunity may be particularly attractive to an experienced Bookkeeper, Accounting Specialist, or Fiscal Specialist ready to expand their accounting responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.

• Support monthly and year-end financial closing activities.

• Assist with financial statements and management reports.

• Track and reconcile loan-related financial transactions.

• Review accounting discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation.

• Assist with audits and routine accounting compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.

• Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.

• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Lancaster, PA.

A Plus, But Not Required

Experience in nonprofit accounting, banking, lending, credit unions, or community development organizations.
