Anduril Industries seeks a Deputy Chief Engineer to lead the technical vision and execution of advanced small unmanned aerial systems (Altius, Anvil, Bolt, Ghost) from concept through production. This role requires expertise across electrical, controls, software, and mechanical engineering to guide cross-functional teams in developing cutting-edge defense technology.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical execution from initial design through fabrication, testing, and production of tactical drone systems
  • Define product milestones, conduct design reviews, and manage engineering risk across hardware and software integration
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and robotics leads to develop system-level architecture and trade studies
  • Coordinate prototype fabrication, subsystem testing, and verification/validation plans for end-to-end systems
  • Conduct hands-on field testing and provide remote troubleshooting support for deployed systems
  • Work with leadership on resource planning and ensure capability gaps are addressed through innovative solutions
