About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Design Engineer to join the Space Special Programs team in Chantilly, VA, developing advanced spacecraft and space systems. You'll contribute as both a technical leader and individual contributor, designing optical systems, mechanisms, control systems, and sensors while mentoring the engineering team.
What you'll do
- Design, analyze, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical spacecraft systems and subsystems
- Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts across mechanical, opto-mechanical, and active/passive mechanism domains
- Create solutions to advanced engineering problems through analysis, design, and experimentation
- Mentor and grow the engineering team while serving as a technical resource
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, logistics, and operations teams
- Influence the team's development roadmap and drive mission success in challenging operational environments
