Software Engineer II - Fleet Enablement & Insights (Annotation Platform)
About this role
Torc is seeking a Software Engineer II to build and maintain an annotation platform that converts multi-sensor autonomous vehicle data into labeled datasets for training and validation. You'll develop interactive 2D/3D editors, high-performance visualization systems, backend services, and data pipelines that support both human annotation workflows and machine learning at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and develop TypeScript/React web application for 2D/3D annotation with cuboid, polygon editing, and track propagation
- Build high-performance point cloud and image rendering using three.js/WebGL with optimized streaming and prefetching
- Design backend services for label storage, versioning, task assignment, QA workflows, and multi-user isolation
- Integrate pre-labeling and pseudo-labeling outputs; track and instrument metrics for auto-labeling feedback loops
- Fuse HD map data into annotation workflows and build data converters for multi-sensor scene ingestion
- Collaborate with Data Annotation, Autonomy/ML, and Data Engineering teams to align tooling with real annotator workflows
