Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Field Test Engineer to lead hands-on operations, testing, and maintenance of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in maritime environments. The role combines field deployment, technical troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to advance subsea robotics capabilities, with approximately 50% travel to support customer operations.

What you'll do

  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in field settings
  • Lead day-to-day AUV operations including pre-mission testing, launch/recovery, tasking, and data analysis
  • Write, review, and execute test plans during at-sea operations and generate detailed operational reports
  • Deploy globally aboard support vessels to conduct AUV testing and evaluation missions
  • Coordinate test execution with vendors, partners, and logistics companies
  • Support software UI design and create user documentation for AUV systems

  • 5+ years operating robotic systems at sea in commercial or research environments
  • On-deck operations with ship cranes, A-frames, and AUV launch/recovery systems
  • Linux and command-line interfaces with software debugging experience
  • Electronics troubleshooting and test equipment usage
  • Subsea operational procedures and equipment knowledge
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Technical writing and customer communication
  • Engineering drawing interpretation (preferred)
