Field Test Engineer, Maritime

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Field Test Engineer to support autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) operations and testing from their Quonset, Rhode Island facility. The role combines hands-on vehicle troubleshooting, sea deployment support, and documentation of test results in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

What you'll do

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in field settings
• Lead daily AUV operations including pre-mission testing, launch/recovery, tasking, and data analysis
• Deploy at-sea to support AUV operations from various support vessels
• Write, execute, and review test plans during sea testing campaigns
• Author detailed operational test reports documenting execution and results
• Coordinate test execution with vendors, partners, and logistics providers

What they're looking for

• 3+ years operating robotic systems at-sea in commercial or research environments
• On-deck operations using ship cranes, A-frames, or AUV launch/recovery systems
• Linux and command-line interface proficiency
• Electronics troubleshooting and test equipment operation
• Microsoft Excel and technical documentation
• Subsea operational procedures and equipment knowledge
• Software debugging and debugging experience
• Strong communication and customer support abilities
