About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop low-level firmware for embedded systems powering tactical drone products. You'll create microcontroller software, debug hardware-software integration issues, and collaborate across electrical, software, and product teams to deliver autonomous aerial systems from prototype to deployment.
What you'll do
- Develop firmware for microcontrollers and create reusable device drivers for tactical drone systems
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, and product design teams
- Work with test engineering to optimize manufacturing and production yield
- Support field testing to identify firmware improvements and quantify customer value
What they're looking for
- Embedded systems firmware development (5+ years)
- C programming with strong language standards knowledge
- Microcontroller integration with sensors (bare-metal or RTOS)
- IC bus protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
- Hardware debugging (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Board bringup and software development best practices
- Written and verbal communication
- Microcontroller architecture (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC preferred)
