Human Factors Engineer
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Human Factors Engineer to apply cognitive science and ergonomics principles to optimize military system usability, safety, and operator performance. You'll collaborate across engineering teams to ensure warfighter-centric design from concept through deployment, working with defense industry standards and advanced technologies.
What you'll do
- Conduct task analyses, user research, and usability testing throughout product lifecycle
- Lead human factors analyses including workload assessment, human error analysis, and function allocation
- Perform ergonomic and anthropometric assessments for hardware and software interfaces
- Develop and execute human-in-the-loop evaluations and cognitive walkthroughs
- Author HSI documentation and ensure compliance with MIL-STD-1472, MIL-HDBK-46855, and DoD standards
- Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and program managers to integrate human factors into design specifications
