About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a backend software engineer to design and maintain an internal LLM agent framework that enables teams across the organization to build, evaluate, and deploy AI agents for defense applications. You'll work at the intersection of backend infrastructure, AI systems, and agent architecture to support mission-critical deployments.

What you'll do

  • Own the core LLM agent framework including abstractions, runtime architecture, and developer experience
  • Support business lines building agents with new capabilities, guidance, and architectural reviews
  • Partner with ML teams to integrate model post-training workflows like fine-tuning and reinforcement learning
  • Design tooling for modern agent patterns including tool calling, memory, planning, and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Develop comprehensive evaluation suites measuring task success, robustness, and deployment readiness
  • Stay current on emerging agent architecture trends and make adoption decisions
