About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Software Engineer to build a synthetic imagery platform for sensor simulation, supporting autonomy testing and ML training. You'll develop Unreal Engine capabilities, integrate third-party tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create realistic simulations that bridge the gap between synthetic and real-world data.
What you'll do
- Develop core Unreal Engine systems including terrain rendering, vehicle physics, and sensor simulation pipelines
- Integrate third-party plugins and tools into the simulation platform, troubleshooting compatibility issues
- Collaborate with autonomy and perception teams to improve sensor fidelity and environmental realism
- Ensure seamless integration between the simulation platform and other core Anduril services
- Analyze and iterate on synthetic data quality based on real-world performance feedback
- Troubleshoot and analyze remotely deployed simulation systems
What they're looking for
- C++ programming (4+ years professional experience)
- Unreal Engine development
- Robotics and autonomy systems knowledge
- Data structures, algorithms, and code optimization
- Performance analysis and debugging tools (gdb, perf, bpftrace)
- Sensor simulation and SITL/HITL testing
- Linux development environment
- GPU and graphics programming (HLSL, Vulkan, CUDA preferred)
