About this role

Apex Companies seeks a Florida-licensed Traffic Engineer to manage FDOT permitting, traffic impact assessments, and signal design on projects across Florida. You'll develop traffic models using Synchro/SimTraffic, coordinate with agencies and clients, and support multidisciplinary transportation teams in a remote role.

What you'll do

  • Prepare FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications with technical documentation and agency coordination
  • Develop Traffic Impact Statements for Florida municipalities
  • Conduct traffic modeling and operational analyses using Synchro/SimTraffic with scenario development
  • Design traffic signals including timing sheets, plans, and coordination per FDOT standards
  • Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies on transportation projects
