Firmware Engineer

About this role

AssetWatch is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain embedded firmware for industrial IoT devices, including vibration sensors, edge hubs, and wireless/wired communication systems. You'll work across the full product lifecycle from prototype through production, collaborating with hardware, cloud, and security teams to deliver reliable condition monitoring solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop and debug firmware for sensors, hubs, and BLE/Wi-Fi communication modules
• Implement secure communication protocols, device authentication, and OTA firmware update mechanisms
• Design sensor diagnostics, data collection, configuration, and edge-to-cloud networking features
• Support hardware qualification phases (EVT, DVT, PVT) and production ramp activities
• Investigate field issues and collaborate on bring-up, testing, and failure analysis
• Maintain production release workflows including versioning, build pipelines, and security reviews
