Security Engineer

Assort Health, a rapidly growing healthcare AI startup, seeks a Security Engineer to build foundational security across product, infrastructure, and detection domains. This generalist role offers broad exposure to multiple security areas in a fast-moving San Francisco-based environment with significant ownership and impact.

What you'll do

• Establish foundational security program across multiple domains with focus on practical maturity improvements
• Lead cloud and infrastructure security initiatives, identifying gaps and improving configurations
• Develop detection and response capabilities including monitoring and incident response processes
• Support product security through code/infrastructure reviews and remediation partnerships
• Implement security tooling evaluation and deployment across the organization
• Drive SOC 2 compliance efforts while building sustainable long-term security practices
