Avionics Engineer Associate (Fall 2026)

About this role

Astranis seeks an Associate Engineer to join its avionics team for a 12-week salaried role working on satellite hardware and software. You'll design test equipment, debug flight systems, and write code to validate spacecraft subsystems alongside experienced engineers.

What you'll do

• Build and test flight hardware with the avionics engineering team
• Design test equipment to validate designs under stressed conditions
• Bring up and debug designs in the lab environment
• Write code to evaluate performance and automate satellite hardware testing
• Develop low-level software to interface with spacecraft subsystems

What they're looking for

• Python or C++
• Hardware design and development
• PCB design software (Altium Designer preferred)
• Lab bench equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply)
• Circuit simulation (SPICE-based simulators)
• Soldering and rework
• Switched mode converter design
• Spacecraft systems knowledge
