About this role

Join Astronomer's Customer Reliability Engineering team as an Airflow expert supporting enterprise customers on the Astro platform. You'll solve complex data engineering challenges, troubleshoot Airflow deployments, and contribute to both customer success and open-source Airflow development in a fully remote role.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for enterprise customers' Apache Airflow deployments and configurations
  • Debug complex Airflow issues spanning DAG creation, optimization, and system performance
  • Maintain 24x7 support coverage with a 6-hour pager rotation during work hours and weekend on-call participation
  • Collaborate with customers' data engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to resolve production issues and meet SLAs
  • Spend up to 20% of time on side projects including open-source Airflow contributions and internal monitoring systems
  • Provide feedback and insights from customer interactions to influence Airflow project direction
