About this role
Who we are
Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.
Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that.
Atoms builds Physical AI— real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.
This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don’t just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.
We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.
If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.
About the team
The Fleet Management engineering team builds the software systems that help operators understand, manage, and scale autonomous fleets in real-world environments. The team works across product, data, backend services, and user-facing applications to turn complex operational problems into reliable, high-leverage software. We move quickly, stay close to users, and value engineers who are comfortable owning problems beyond a narrow technical boundary.
About the role
We are looking for a product-minded Full-Stack Engineer to build and own software used to manage autonomous fleets. You will work across the stack, from user facing workflows and interfaces to APIs, backend services, and data to take ambiguous operational problems from idea to production. This is a generalist role for an engineer who enjoys broad ownership, moves quickly, and is comfortable working wherever the problem requires.
What you'll do
- Own features and product experiences end to end, from technical design through production deployment.
- Build intuitive, high-quality interfaces for fleet operators and internal users.
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data flows that power fleet-management workflows.
- Work with operational and engineering stakeholders to translate complex real-world needs into simple, scalable product solutions.
- Use modern AI-assisted engineering tools and emerging technologies to increase development velocity and improve product capabilities.
- Make pragmatic architecture and implementation decisions while maintaining a high bar for reliability, maintainability, and user experience.
- Debug across system boundaries and take ownership of issues through resolution.
- Help shape engineering practices and technical direction as the Fleet Management product and team grow.
What we're looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production software.
- Experience building across both frontend and backend systems; depth in one area with the ability and willingness to work across the stack.
- Experience with modern web applications, APIs, services, databases, and data-intensive product workflows.
- Strong product instincts and the ability to reason from a user or operational problem rather than from a narrowly defined technical task.
- Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with a high degree of ownership.
- Strong communication and technical judgment, including the ability to explain tradeoffs clearly.
- A track record of taking meaningful projects from concept through launch and iteration.
Nice to have
- Experience building operational tooling, fleet-management systems, logistics platforms, robotics or autonomous-vehicle products.
- Experience with real-time or high-volume data systems.
- Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities or AI-enabled developer workflows into production products.
- Startup or zero-to-one product engineering experience.
Why join us
At Atoms, you’ll work on one of the defining challenges of our time—bringing automation into the physical world to drive real, lasting impact. We exist to uncover valuable unknown truths and turn them into progress, which means constantly pushing beyond what’s known and building what doesn’t yet exist. The work is ambitious and often challenging, but it’s grounded in a shared sense of purpose and a team committed to seeing it through together. Our work only matters if it serves others, and we know that meaningful progress depends on the trust of the people we serve and the strength of our team—so we invest in both, creating an environment where you can do your best work and grow.
