Axon
Mission Engineer - Baltimore
About this role
Axon seeks a Mission Engineer to embed onsite with law enforcement agencies, owning end-to-end customer outcomes by building and deploying AI-powered workflows, integrations, and operational solutions using Axon's platform. This ownership role demands technical expertise, builder instinct, and executive presence to drive real operational transformation—measured by production impact, not activity.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and ship AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines onsite using Axon's platform (AI Era, DEMS, Fusus, Records)
- Discover agency problems onsite and translate them into compliant, buildable solutions tied to mission outcomes
- Drive hands-on adoption with end users, measure impact on workflows and mission outcomes, and iterate until changes stick in production
- Own operational transformation: assess workflows, identify friction, lead QBRs and strategic planning, and define success metrics before deployment
- Maintain ~3-4 days/week onsite presence, troubleshoot breaks, and coordinate root-cause resolution across product, engineering, and support teams
- Capture field intelligence on workflows, adoption barriers, and expansion opportunities; partner with Product and Sales on roadmap and account strategy
What they're looking for
- Platform building and configuration (AI agents, workflows, integrations, automation)
- Technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Operational transformation and process improvement
- Customer relationship management and executive communication
- AI/ML workflow design and deployment
- Data pipeline and integration architecture
- Compliance knowledge (CJIS, evidence integrity, privacy)
- Program management and outcome measurement
