Field Engineer (Deployment Operations)

About this role

Base is seeking a Field Engineer to serve as mission control support for distributed battery installation and service crews. You'll provide real-time technical guidance to field teams while monitoring system health and identifying trends to improve operations and product development.

What you'll do

• Provide live technical support to field crews during battery installations and service calls via phone, text, and Slack (~75% of time)
• Troubleshoot electrical hardware issues and escalate complex compliance problems to appropriate teams
• Monitor system health using tools like Grafana and Retool to identify and resolve issues
• Document solutions, create troubleshooting aids, and maintain hardware defect logs
• Analyze field issue trends and flag high-impact problems to engineering and product teams
• Create and manage service tickets in Jira or Odoo while collaborating with Member Experience
