About this role
Base is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to design and execute comprehensive validation tests for distributed battery systems that modernize the electrical grid. You'll build automated test setups, analyze performance data, and provide actionable insights to drive hardware reliability and design improvements across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains.
What you'll do
- Design and build automated test setups including mechanical fixtures, PCBAs, sensors, and DAQ systems
- Execute electrical, mechanical, and reliability validation tests to ensure hardware meets performance requirements
- Perform root cause and failure analysis on hardware issues with data-driven insights
- Automate data analysis and anomaly detection across large test datasets
- Produce clear, technical reports that translate complex results into actionable findings for engineering teams
- Work across electromechanical products with embedded firmware to validate performance limits
