Internship 2026 Hardware Engineer (Winter Term)
About this role
Bedrock is seeking a hardware engineering intern for Winter 2026 to support the design, integration, and testing of autonomous construction equipment systems. You'll work with experienced engineers deploying real-world autonomy solutions, writing test scripts, analyzing sensor data, and validating hardware platforms for autonomous heavy machinery.
What you'll do
- Support hardware design, characterization, and integration of autonomous systems under senior engineer guidance
- Assist with component evaluation and selection for autonomous platforms
- Write sensor data analysis and test automation scripts in Python, C++, C, or Rust
- Execute field and lab tests, collect data, and document results for the engineering team
- Help validate and troubleshoot autonomy hardware in real-world construction environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware-software integration
