Rust Developer Intern (Summer 2026)

About this role

Join Blockhouse's engineering team as a Rust intern working on a production market-making engine that trades live capital across crypto exchanges. You'll optimize the core trading system, integrate new venues, build trader dashboards, and deploy infrastructure on GCP alongside founders and senior engineers.

What you'll do

• Optimize and extend the Rust-based market-making engine for performance and new features
• Integrate new cryptocurrency exchanges (CEX/DEX) with REST, WebSocket, and order lifecycle handling
• Build and improve the internal trader dashboard with frontend and backend components
• Deploy services to GCP infrastructure with observability and data pipeline support
• Debug live trading systems using production logs and real market behavior
• Collaborate with quantitative traders to implement strategy logic in production code
