About this role
Join Camunda's Core/API & Process Automation team to work on the event-sourced, distributed workflow engine powering business-critical processes for thousands of customers. You'll tackle genuine distributed-systems challenges including event sourcing, concurrency, and performance optimization, while helping shape the future of AI-driven process automation.
What you'll do
- Build and evolve features in the event-sourced engine and REST/gRPC APIs using command/event and CQRS patterns
- Own well-scoped work end-to-end from implementation through testing and shipping, including design contributions and ADRs
- Ship high-impact engine features like process suspension/resumption and AI agent steering capabilities
- Design and consume clean APIs with strong developer ergonomics and backward compatibility
- Detect and optimize inefficient processing patterns across RocksDB, Elasticsearch, and Postgres data stores
- Maintain code quality through collaborative reviews, testing, and on-call participation
