DER Integration Engineer
About this role
CARIAN seeks a DER Integration Engineer to support grid modernization and electrification initiatives for a major New Jersey utility. You'll evaluate and integrate distributed energy resources, EV infrastructure, and battery storage while contributing to distribution planning, pilot programs, and scalable deployment strategies.
What you'll do
- Evaluate and integrate distributed energy resources including battery storage, EV charging, and grid-interactive technologies
- Support distribution system planning efforts for DER adoption and electrification across customer sectors
- Perform technical analysis and modeling using tools like CYME to assess renewable integration and feeder impacts
- Develop scalable electrification strategies aligned with grid modernization objectives
- Coordinate with stakeholders including planning, regulatory, engineering, and customer program teams
- Prepare technical materials for regulatory filings, stakeholder engagement, and executive presentations
