About this role

Cartesian seeks a security-focused software engineer to build and scale their indoor positioning platform while establishing security as a core design principle. You'll combine full-stack development with infrastructure work, guiding the company through enterprise security certifications and threat mitigation as they grow their customer base.

What you'll do

  • Build scalable web services and APIs using Python while embedding security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Lead security certification and audit efforts (e.g., SOC 2) to support enterprise customer acquisition
  • Refine threat models and implement access control improvements across the product
  • Manage cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform with security-first design
  • Enhance security monitoring and CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, high-quality deployments
  • Establish security principles and processes so the entire team builds secure systems by default
