Smart Contract Engineer

About this role

Category Labs seeks a Smart Contract Engineer to build application-layer solutions on Monad, a high-performance EVM-compatible blockchain. You'll design and implement smart contracts that leverage the platform's unique capabilities while collaborating with external teams and the core engineering group.

What you'll do

• Develop smart contracts optimized for Monad's high-throughput EVM capabilities
• Identify and address gaps in the app developer ecosystem through collaboration with core engineering
• Partner directly with external application and infrastructure teams to resolve technical blockers
• Contribute to ecosystem adoption by designing new primitives enabled by the platform
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation

What they're looking for

• Solidity smart contract development (3+ years)
• Foundry and Hardhat expertise
• Application-layer security vulnerabilities and best practices
• Backend engineering in C, C++, or Rust
• Blockchain infrastructure experience (L1, L2, or infrastructure projects)
• System design and architecture
• Technical communication and collaboration
