About this role
Centuria Corporation seeks a Systems Engineer to support the National Weather Service's NEXRAD radar network in Norman, OK. You'll conduct system design analysis, feasibility studies, and testing while maintaining the technical infrastructure that powers the nation's weather operations. This role requires strong technical foundations in networking, Linux, and hardware integration with opportunities to work on complex, mission-critical systems.
What you'll do
- Perform system design and requirements analysis for complex radar network infrastructure
- Conduct feasibility, cost/benefit, and alternatives analysis for system modifications and improvements
- Develop technical specifications, design documents, and system integration plans
- Execute system integration testing to validate functionality and performance of hardware and software components
- Troubleshoot system design, integration, and performance issues across distributed radar sites
- Provide Tier 3 technical support to field sites via remote and on-site assistance
What they're looking for
- Linux system administration (Red Hat/RHEL preferred)
- Programming/scripting (Python, Matlab, or Expect)
- Wide-area networking concepts (MPLS, BGP, satellite, microwave, wireless)
- TCP/IP networking and Cisco IOS configuration
- Hardware integration and troubleshooting
- Electronics lab equipment operation (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
- Technical documentation and test procedure development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
