Mechanical Engineer I
About this role
CesiumAstro seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of satellite communication systems and aerospace hardware from concept through in-orbit operation. You'll work across CAD, thermal management, FEA, and environmental qualification in a dynamic startup setting.
What you'll do
- Perform mechanical design and analysis for satellite and aerospace products across the full development lifecycle
- Conduct thermal, shock, vibration, and FEA simulations to validate designs
- Develop electronics packaging layouts and ensure spacecraft mechanical interface compatibility
- Apply GD&T principles and precision machining knowledge to detailed design work
- Support environmental qualification testing and in-orbit mission support
- Present engineering design reviews and documentation to stakeholders
