Java Engineer - Compliance Technology

About this role

Chicago Trading Company seeks an experienced Java engineer to develop real-time compliance and monitoring systems for options market making. You'll design high-throughput platforms that detect trading violations, generate regulatory reports across multiple jurisdictions, and manage operational risk in a fast-paced trading environment.

What you'll do

• Design and build real-time, low-latency systems to monitor orders and quotes across trading venues
• Automate compliance detection and regulatory reporting for agencies like SEC, FSA, and FINRA
• Develop scalable data pipelines to process large trading datasets and identify prohibited behaviors
• Resolve production issues quickly to maintain uninterrupted market operations
• Document system architectures and processes to support audits and regulatory reviews
• Adapt compliance controls to evolving regulatory rules and guidelines
