Forward Deployed Engineer
About this role
A Forward Deployed Engineer bridges product and sales for an AI infrastructure startup, owning customer engagements from discovery through production deployment across EMEA. You'll demonstrate agentic reasoning capabilities to enterprise data teams, run end-to-end proofs of value, and build the pre-sales playbook that scales the company's go-to-market motion.
What you'll do
- Conduct on-site customer discovery and technical deep-dives with data architects, platform leads, and CIOs across UK and European markets
- Design and execute end-to-end proofs of value, including scoping, technical validation, competitive positioning, and conversion to production commitments
- Deliver technical demonstrations, handle complex objections, and debate architectural trade-offs with skeptical principal engineers
- Build and maintain pre-sales playbook including demo narratives, discovery frameworks, objection handling, and reference architectures
- Partner with internal ML and infrastructure teams to ensure deployed solutions match customer commitments and translate edge cases into actionable product feedback
- Serve as sole company representative on customer sites, navigating enterprise procurement, security reviews, and multi-stakeholder buying processes

- Enterprise technical sales and proof-of-value execution
- Python or SQL for rapid prototyping and technical validation

- Enterprise procurement and security review navigation
- Knowledge graphs, semantic layers, or entity resolution (preferred)
- Multilingual ability or multi-market selling experience (preferred)
