About this role

Join Coinbase's CB Node team to optimize and scale blockchain infrastructure across 55+ protocols. You'll focus on performance analysis, observability, and cost efficiency for the node stack that powers Coinbase's crypto platform, working with systems-level optimization rather than resource over-provisioning.

What you'll do

  • Analyze and optimize performance across the blockchain node stack, identifying root causes and implementing fixes that reduce infrastructure costs while maintaining reliability SLOs
  • Design and build observability, health-check, and automated failover systems for blockchain nodes to enable proactive monitoring and response
  • Right-size the node fleet through workload profiling, identify over-provisioned instances, and develop capacity models balancing cost and reliability
  • Collaborate with protocol engineers, wallet teams, and indexers to extend performance improvements across the platform
  • Define and implement SLOs and SLIs for node services with measurement frameworks that reduce reliance on over-provisioning
  • Support protocol upgrades and node operations with performance validation and regression testing before production deployment
