Substation Engineer

About this role

Beta Engineering seeks a Substation Engineer in Pineville, Louisiana to design and verify high-voltage substation components and systems. The role involves performing technical calculations, creating design documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring all work meets industry codes and standards.

What you'll do

• Perform and verify calculations for grounding, conduit fill, pulling tension, lighting, arc-flash, insulation coordination, and other substation systems
• Create and review material lists and equipment vendor design packages
• Design and check electrical arrangements, control shelters, outdoor lighting, and bus systems
• Coordinate between design teams, project management, construction, and customers to resolve technical issues
• Travel to customer sites and active job sites for meetings, construction oversight, and system testing
• Maintain design documentation and communicate regularly with supervisors regarding project status and concerns
