About this role
Some people do their best work before the rest of the world wakes up. If that sounds like you, this is your shift. As a Breakfast Attendant at Bandon Dunes, you’ll start at 4:30 a.m. and be finished by 1 p.m., with the whole afternoon ahead of you to get outside, run errands, or enjoy the Southern Oregon Coast. In between, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces our guests see each day. You’ll keep the coffee hot, the buffet full, and the dining room ready for golfers on their way to some of the best courses in the world.
About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:
Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to two 'Courses with a Mission': Bandon Preserve, an award-winning par-3 course, and Shorty's, which opened in 2024. All net proceeds from both courses fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, supporting communities along the South Coast of Oregon.
Beyond premier golf, guests delight in a variety of dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally-sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.
Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.
What You'll Do:
- Keep the buffet full and looking its best. You’ll watch food levels throughout service and give the kitchen a heads-up before anything runs low. You’ll rotate product first-in, first-out and keep the line neat and wiped down, so the last guest of the morning gets the same buffet as the first.
- Keep the food safe. Hot food stays hot and cold food stays cold. You’ll check that chafing dishes and cold wells are working, follow time and temperature guidelines, and make sure allergy labels are right, because guests trust what’s on that card.
- Keep the coffee coming. You’ll keep the coffee, tea, juice, and water stations full and clean, along with cups, napkins, flatware, plates, and condiments. For a golfer headed out at first light, that first cup matters.
- Open and close the buffet. Before doors open, you’ll set up the chafing dishes, displays, signage, and food labels. At close, you’ll break everything down, clean it, and put it away so tomorrow’s crew starts fresh.
- Turn tables quickly and keep the room spotless. You’ll clear dishes promptly, wipe and reset tables for the next guests, polish and restock glassware and silverware, and keep floors and walkways clean and clear.
- Take care of guests and your teammates. You’ll greet guests warmly, answer questions about what’s on the buffet, and jump in to help servers and bussers when it gets busy. You’ll start each shift with a quick pre-shift meeting so everyone knows the plan.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- You can count on yourself to be here at 4:30 a.m. This is the most important thing we’re looking for. Maybe you’re already a morning person, or maybe you’ve worked early shifts at a bakery, coffee shop, hotel, or farm. Either way, you show up on time and ready to go.
- You don’t need restaurant experience. Buffet, restaurant, or hospitality work is a plus, but we’ll teach you our buffet standards, food safety practices, and what’s on the menu.
- You notice things. You spot the empty tray, the low coffee urn, or the spill on the counter before a guest does.
- You stay steady when it gets busy. When the room fills up, you know what to handle first, and you know when to take care of something yourself and when to grab your supervisor.
- You like being part of a team. You talk easily with the kitchen and dining room crew and you’re happy to help wherever you’re needed.
A Few Things to Know:
- The schedule is early. Shifts run 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and include weekends and holidays. Before you apply, think through how you’ll get to the resort at that hour. We want this to work for you long-term.
- You’ll be on your feet. Expect to stand, walk, bend, and carry for up to five hours at a time. You’ll regularly lift up to 30 lbs (full food pans, beverage containers, bus tubs) and occasionally up to 50 lbs with help.
- You’ll work around heat and cleaning supplies. The work is mostly indoors, around buffet warmers, hot beverage equipment, sharp utensils, and cleaning chemicals. We’ll train you to work safely with all of it.
- Food Handler Card. If you don’t already have an Oregon Food Handler Card, you’ll get one shortly after you start.
- English and background check. You’ll need to read, write, and communicate in English with guests and teammates, and pass a pre-employment background check.
Perks and Benefits For Full Time Employees:
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy a well-rounded benefits package that covers your health, wellness, and financial future.
- Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to relax and recharge with our PTO plan.
- Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
- Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
- Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
- Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
- Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
- Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.
If you’d rather start your day helping people than sleeping through it, and you like the idea of having your afternoons free on the Oregon Coast, we’d like to hear from you. This role reports to our Food & Beverage Manager and Food & Beverage Supervisor, and it’s a great way to get your start in hospitality at one of the best golf destinations in the country.
