About this role

DRW's Tools Engineering team seeks a Software Engineer to build and maintain trading systems for Cumberland and FICC options desks. You'll alternate between embedded deployments with trading teams to solve high-impact problems and returning to generalize solutions across the platform.

What you'll do

  • Embed with trading desks to understand problems, design domain models, and deliver specialized engineering solutions
  • Own products end-to-end from prototype through stable production
  • Build, maintain, and extend the central trading platform across multiple languages
  • Extract reusable patterns from forward deployments and make tools available to all trading desks
  • Work with both greenfield and legacy systems in Python, Java, C++, and TypeScript
  • Provide on-call support as needed

  • Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript (2+ years experience)
  • Customer-facing delivery in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Complex problem analysis and risk identification
  • Clear communication with stakeholders and engineers
  • Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency systems
  • Financial markets experience (delta one/FICC options preferred)
  • Functional programming (plus)
  • Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering background
