About this role
DRW's Tools Engineering team seeks a Software Engineer to build and maintain trading systems for Cumberland and FICC options desks. You'll alternate between embedded deployments with trading teams to solve high-impact problems and returning to generalize solutions across the platform.
What you'll do
- Embed with trading desks to understand problems, design domain models, and deliver specialized engineering solutions
- Own products end-to-end from prototype through stable production
- Build, maintain, and extend the central trading platform across multiple languages
- Extract reusable patterns from forward deployments and make tools available to all trading desks
- Work with both greenfield and legacy systems in Python, Java, C++, and TypeScript
- Provide on-call support as needed
What they're looking for
- Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript (2+ years experience)
- Customer-facing delivery in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Complex problem analysis and risk identification
- Clear communication with stakeholders and engineers
- Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Financial markets experience (delta one/FICC options preferred)
- Functional programming (plus)
- Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering background
