Backend Engineer - Card Transaction Processing

About this role

Ether.fi, a leading crypto company with $10B+ in assets under management, is seeking a senior backend engineer to architect and optimize card transaction processing systems. You'll own core backend infrastructure, drive performance improvements, and build scalable solutions for their neobank platform serving thousands of users.

What you'll do

• Own and extend core backend systems to improve throughput and latency
• Design and optimize scalable transaction processing services for high-throughput, low-latency financial transactions
• Reduce card transaction decline rates and improve user experience
• Enhance cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems
• Drive improvements in observability and automation across backend services

What they're looking for

• Backend software engineering and system design
• Distributed systems and microservice architecture
• High-performance transaction processing
• Cloud infrastructure and DevOps
• 5+ years professional coding experience
• Payment processing platforms (Paymentology, Episode 6, etc.)
• Card issuing systems
• API design and low-latency systems
