Fraud Engineer
About this role
Ether.fi is seeking a Fraud Engineer to build and operate a comprehensive fraud defense system for their $10B+ crypto finance platform. You'll own real-time monitoring, threat hunting, and automated mitigation across their card program and DeFi products, working closely with engineering and compliance teams to stay ahead of sophisticated attack campaigns.
What you'll do
- Own real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and automated mitigation systems
- Hunt emerging threats including cashback farming, card testing, merchant abuse, and money laundering
- Develop and tune fraud rules, behavioral signals, and scoring logic
- Build internal tools, dashboards, and scripts to enhance team effectiveness
- Define fraud strategy and operational playbooks that scale with business growth
- Communicate with cross-functional teams and external partners to mitigate fraud risks

- Payment card fraud mechanics (card testing, BIN attacks, friendly fraud)
- Python or modern scripting languages
