Associate Manufacturing Engineer - Must Be In Salem Office 3 Days Per Week
About this role
Entry-level manufacturing engineering role supporting production of networking hardware through global contract manufacturing partners. You'll assist with design-for-manufacturability reviews, new product builds, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives while gaining hands-on experience on the production floor and in labs.
What you'll do
- Support DFM/DFA reviews and design-for-excellence activities for PCB assemblies and system-level networking products
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, BOMs, routings, and control plans
- Participate in NPI builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) at contract manufacturer and Extreme sites, collecting data and tracking issues
- Analyze production data on yield, scrap, defects, and cycle time to identify improvement opportunities
- Support root-cause analysis, 8D problem solving, and corrective/preventive action tracking for production issues
- Assist with supplier audits, first-article inspections, and process qualification for SMT, PTH, and mechanical assembly operations
