Software Engineer, Traffic

About this role

Figma seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design and operate scalable traffic and network infrastructure on AWS. You'll build the next generation of edge and distributed systems supporting millions of users, with a focus on service mesh deployment, DDoS mitigation, and production reliability.

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable distributed systems powering Figma's collaboration platform
• Develop and secure internal and edge network infrastructure on AWS
• Design and deploy internal service mesh to support growing services
• Build DDoS detection and auto-scaling countermeasures
• Debug and resolve production incidents across multiple stack layers

• Infrastructure and distributed systems design at scale
• TypeScript or Go programming
• Cloud environment infrastructure (AWS)
• Network and traffic systems architecture
• DDoS mitigation and security
• Network protocols (TCP, HTTP, DNS, SSL)
• Network proxies (Envoy, Haproxy)
• VPC Flow Logs and traffic analytics
