Mechanical Engineer, Robot Ecosystem

About this role

Figure, an AI robotics company in San Jose, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop hardware components for their autonomous humanoid robot platform. You'll handle the complete lifecycle from CAD design through prototyping, testing, and supplier coordination to bring robot ecosystem parts to market.

What you'll do

• Design 3D CAD parts meeting load, form factor, and durability specifications
• Build and test prototypes for assembly, motion range, and routing validation
• Create precise 2D technical drawings with GD&T per ASME standards
• Collaborate with supply chain team on vendor selection and procurement
• Perform first article inspections and provide ongoing support for robot development

• 3D CAD software expertise (especially complex geometry design)
• Prototype design and fabrication
• GD&T and technical drawing standards
• FEA, MATLAB, or similar simulation tools
• Electromechanical integration (sensors, motors, wire harnesses)
• Technical documentation and design process management
• CATIA V6 (bonus)
• Wire harness design (bonus)

Benefits

• Base salary: $120,000 - $180,000 annually
