Software Engineer II, Forward Deployment

Join Flock Safety's Nova team as a Software Engineer II focused on forward deployment, where you'll bridge technology and real-world customer needs by designing, deploying, and integrating crime-prevention solutions into complex environments. This customer-facing role combines technical expertise with direct client collaboration to ensure successful implementations and drive product evolution based on field insights.

What you'll do

• Design and execute tailored integration solutions for customer systems while working directly with law enforcement and security organizations
• Troubleshoot connectivity, data, and technical issues in diverse customer environments and lead resolution efforts
• Conduct technical discovery sessions with customers to understand their requirements and translate needs into deployable solutions
• Deploy and configure repeatable integrations while documenting processes and improving deployment workflows
• Travel onsite to customer locations (25-50%) to oversee implementations and ensure platform effectiveness
• Contribute code improvements and influence product evolution based on customer feedback and deployment learnings

• SQL query writing and database performance optimization
• RESTful APIs, authentication protocols, and data structures
• Networking basics (VPNs, firewalls, IP whitelisting, SSL/TLS)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Data format handling (JSON, XML, CSV) and Git version control
